Question 1

How do I get an earlier US visa appointment in India?

Accepted Answer

To get an earlier US visa appointment in India, you have to catch a slot the moment another applicant cancels or reschedules — earlier OFC and Consular dates open and disappear within minutes. The reliable way is continuous monitoring: AppointVisa's dedicated team watches official availability every day across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata and books the instant a suitable earlier slot opens.

Question 2

Are US visa appointments currently open in India?

Accepted Answer

Yes — US visa appointment scheduling is open in India for OFC biometrics and Consular interviews across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. What varies is how far out the earliest available date is; wait times move constantly as slots are booked, cancelled and re-released.

Question 3

What are US visa appointment wait times in India?

Accepted Answer

US visa appointment wait times in India fluctuate by city, visa category and season, and the official estimate shown is only a snapshot — it does not reflect the earlier slots that open when others cancel. Rather than accept the first date shown, our team monitors availability daily to find a materially earlier appointment.

Question 4

How do I book a US visa appointment in India?

Accepted Answer

To book a US visa appointment in India: complete the DS-160 form, pay the MRV visa fee and keep the receipt number, then log in to the official scheduling portal and choose your OFC biometrics and Consular interview slots. AppointVisa can handle the monitoring and booking for you so you get the earliest realistic dates.

Question 5

How do I reschedule a US visa appointment to an earlier date?

Accepted Answer

You reschedule a US visa appointment to an earlier date by logging in to the scheduling portal and selecting a new slot — but an earlier date is only available if one has opened up. Since earlier slots appear unpredictably as others cancel, continuous monitoring is what lets you move your date forward instead of settling for what's shown.

Question 6

How many times can I reschedule a US visa appointment?

Accepted Answer

The US visa scheduling portal generally allows only a limited number of free reschedules per paid MRV fee — often just one — after which you may need to pay the MRV fee again to reschedule further. Exact limits change, so confirm the current policy on the official portal before you move your date.

Question 7

What is usvisascheduling.com and how do I log in?

Accepted Answer

usvisascheduling.com is the official portal for scheduling US non-immigrant visa appointments in India and several other countries. You log in with the account you created, after completing the DS-160 and paying the MRV fee (the receipt number is needed to book). Never enter your portal login on any non-official or public form.

Question 8

How do I check US visa slot availability?

Accepted Answer

You check US visa slot availability by logging in to the official scheduling portal and opening the appointment calendar for your category and city. Because slots open and vanish within minutes, a single check only shows that moment — continuous monitoring throughout the day is the only reliable way to catch an earlier opening.

Question 9

What happens at a US visa appointment?

Accepted Answer

A US visa process has two appointments. At the OFC appointment, your fingerprints and photo are captured — it's short. At the Consular interview, a consular officer reviews your documents and asks about your travel purpose before deciding your visa. Bring your appointment confirmation, passport, DS-160 confirmation and supporting documents.

Question 10

What should I bring to a US visa OFC appointment?

Accepted Answer

For a US visa OFC (biometrics) appointment, bring your appointment confirmation letter, your passport, and your DS-160 confirmation page. The OFC visit captures your fingerprints and photograph and is usually brief. Arrive on time and follow the facility's current ID and belongings rules.

Question 11

Can OFC and Consular appointments be in different cities?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your OFC biometrics appointment and your Consular interview are scheduled independently, so they can be in different cities — for example OFC in one city and the interview in another. Mixing cities often finds you earlier dates, because availability differs across Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

Question 12

What are the requirements for a US visa appointment?

Accepted Answer

To book a US visa appointment you generally need: a passport valid for your travel, a completed DS-160 form with its confirmation barcode, and a paid MRV fee receipt. You then create or use your scheduling-portal account to pick OFC and Consular slots. Specific documents for the interview depend on your visa category.

Question 13

Can I get an emergency or expedited US visa appointment in India?

Accepted Answer

Expedited (emergency) US visa appointments may be requested for qualifying urgent reasons — such as a medical emergency, a death in the family, or urgent business — after you already have a regular appointment booked. Eligibility and approval are decided by the Consulate. Separately, our daily monitoring often secures a much earlier regular slot without needing an expedite request.

Question 14

What qualifies for an expedited US visa appointment in India?

Accepted Answer

Expedited (emergency) US visa appointments in India are discretionary, but common qualifying situations include a life-threatening medical emergency, the death or critical illness of an immediate family member in the US, an imminent student (F/M/J) program start date with no regular slots, and certain urgent business or employment deadlines. Strong supporting documents matter, and approval is never guaranteed.

Question 15

How long does emergency US visa appointment approval take in India?

Accepted Answer

Most applicants receive a decision on an emergency/expedited US visa request by email within about 1–7 business days, though timing varies. You keep your existing regular appointment while you wait, and approval opens only a limited window to book an earlier slot.

Question 16

My emergency US visa request is approved but there are no slots — what now?

Accepted Answer

Approval of an emergency request does not assign a date automatically — it opens a limited window in which you must still book an earlier slot, and those can remain scarce. The fix is continuous monitoring: AppointVisa watches official availability and books the moment a suitable earlier OFC or Consular slot appears.

Question 17

How do I book a US visa appointment for my family together?

Accepted Answer

Family members can usually be grouped under one scheduling-portal account so their US visa appointments are booked together on the same date and location. Each applicant still needs their own DS-160 and MRV fee. We help families secure group OFC and Consular slots and bring the dates forward where possible.

Question 18

Is it safe to use a US visa appointment service?

Accepted Answer

It can be, if the service works within the official system and never asks for your portal login on a public form or promises a guaranteed visa. A safe service is transparent about fees, uses a refundable model, and is clear that it is independent of the U.S. Government. AppointVisa monitors official availability for you and refunds your pre-payment in full if we don't book.

Question 19

What is the MRV fee for a US visa?

Accepted Answer

The MRV (Machine Readable Visa) fee is the non-refundable US visa application fee you pay before booking an appointment — currently US$185 for most non-immigrant categories such as B1/B2, F1 and H1B. You pay it to the official system (not to AppointVisa), and the receipt number is required to schedule your appointment.

Question 20

Can I get an early US visa appointment from Canada?

Accepted Answer

Yes — applicants in Canada can look for earlier US visa appointment dates the same way: earlier slots open as others cancel, and catching one means monitoring availability closely. Some applicants also consider third-country ('interview in a different country') options when their home wait times are long. AppointVisa can advise on the fastest realistic route.

Question 21

Can I get an early US visa appointment from Pakistan?

Accepted Answer

Yes — applicants in Pakistan can pursue an earlier US visa appointment by monitoring for cancellations and newly released slots. Wait times vary by post and category. Message us with your city and visa type and we'll tell you what's realistic and how we can help you move the date forward.
